The kennel should be big enough for your dog to stand up, turn around, and lie down comfortably.
Put the kennel in a quiet area of your home and let your dog sniff it. You can also put some of their favorite toys or treats inside.
When your dog goes into the kennel, give them a treat or praise them. This will help them associate the kennel with positive things.
Once your dog is comfortable going into the kennel, leave it open so they can go in and out as they please.
Once your dog is comfortable going in and out of the kennel, start closing it for short periods of time. Reward them for staying in the kennel.
Gradually increase the amount of time your dog spends in the kennel. Be patient and consistent, and your dog will eventually learn to love their kennel.
Never use the kennel as punishment. This will only make your dog afraid of it.
