Teach Your Dog to Go to the Bathroom in Snow or Rain

Bathroom

It's important to be able to teach your dog to go to the bathroom in snow or rain, so they can stay clean and healthy. Here are 8 tips to help you do it.

Right Spot

Choose a spot in your yard that is clear of snow or rain, so your dog can easily find a place to go.

Often

Take your dog out to go to the bathroom every 2-3 hours, even if it's snowing or raining.

Consistent

Be patient and consistent with your training, and your dog will eventually learn to go to the bathroom in snow or rain.

Reinforcement

Reward your dog with a treat or praise when they go to the bathroom in the right spot. This will help them associate going to the bathroom in that spot with positive things.

Force

If your dog doesn't want to go to the bathroom in the snow or rain, don't force them. This will only make them more reluctant to go in the future.

Dress

Dress your dog appropriately for the weather, so they stay warm and dry.
