Summer Grooming and Sun Safety for Dogs

Summer Grooming

As the weather gets warmer, it's important to take steps to keep your dog safe and comfortable.

Keep Your Dog Cool

If your dog has a long or thick coat, you may want to consider trimming it to help them stay cool.

Protect Sensitive Areas

Be sure to pay attention to sensitive areas of your dog's skin, such as the ears, nose, and belly.

Avoid Hot Surfaces

Keep your dog off of hot pavement, sand, and other surfaces that can burn their paws. You can also put booties on your dog to protect their feet.

Provide Shade and Water

sure your dog has access to shade and plenty of fresh water, especially during hot weather.

 Watch for Signs

If you see any of the signs of heatstroke, such as heavy panting, excessive drooling, or vomiting, take your dog to the vet immediately

Take Breaks

If you're going for a walk with your dog in hot weather, take breaks in the shade and make sure they have plenty of water to drink.
