Pool Safety for Dogs

Pools can be a great source of fun and exercise for dogs, but they can also be dangerous if they are not properly supervised.

This is the most important safety tip for dogs around pools. Never leave your dog unattended near a pool, even for a few minutes.

If your dog falls into the pool, they may not know how to get out. Teach them how to climb out by creating a ramp or using a pool noodle.

Pool water can be very cold, especially for small dogs. Test the water temperature before letting your dog in to make sure it is not too cold.

Toys can attract your dog to the pool, even if they are not supposed to be in it.

 Be aware

Chlorine can be harmful to dogs if they ingest it. Be sure to rinse your dog off with fresh water after they have been in the pool.

By following these safety tips, you can help keep your dog safe around a pool and prevent any accidents.
