Dog Exercise Tips

Start Slowly

If your dog is new to exercise, start slowly and gradually increase the amount of time and intensity of their workouts.

Give your dog a variety of exercises to keep them engaged and interested. This could include walking, running, playing fetch, or swimming.

Some breeds of dogs require more exercise than others. Older dogs may also need less exercise than younger dogs.

Avoid exercising your dog in extreme heat or cold. If it is too hot or cold outside, you can play indoor games with your dog or take them to a dog park with indoor facilities.

This page attachment contains additional dog exercise tips, such as how to choose the right exercise for your dog, how to deal with common exercise problems, and how to exercise your dog in different weather conditions.

Exercise should be a fun experience for both you and your dog. Choose activities that you both enjoy and make sure to take breaks when needed.
